The following groups make up Troop 3:16: Charter OrganizationTroop 3:16 is sponsored and owned by Grace Baptist Church. The Chartered Organization is obligated by the BSA Charter agreement to provide an adequate meeting place, including storage for Troop equipment. The Troop’s Charter Organization Representative is the primary liaison between the Troop and the Charter Organization. To learn more about Grace Baptist Church, please visit www.gracebaptist.org. Troop CommitteeThe Troop Committee is made up of all the Parents who serve to approve and provide support for activities planned by the Patrol Leader Council and Scoutmaster. The Committee is headed by the Committee Chairman, and various members hold positions with specific responsibilities such as Finance, Advancement, Outdoor Events, and Training. ParentsParents must participate actively as uniformed Adult Leaders or as Committee Members if they want their sons to succeed in Scouting. Troop 3:16 expects at least one Parent from every family to be actively involved with the Troop. Adult LeadersThe uniformed Adult Leaders consist of the Assistant Scoutmasters and Advisors operating under the direction of the Scoutmaster. Their duties are to train and guide Youth Leaders and to provide adult supervision on outings. The Scoutmaster has full responsibility for the Troop’s program decisions. Patrol Leader CouncilThe Patrol Leaders Council consists of the Youth Leaders who plan and conduct the Troop program under the guidance of the Scoutmaster, who in turn trains its members and has ultimate authority and responsibility over all decisions made. The operation of the PLC is a key means of leadership development. PatrolsEach Scout is a member of one of the Troop’s five Patrols: Cougar, Eagle, Patriot, Stallion or Viking. Each Patrol elects its own Patrol Leader, who represents the Patrol on the Patrol Leader Council. See Also |
