Troop Meetings

All Scouts should attend Troop Meetings as regularly as possible to fully participate in Troop activities and advance in rank. Troop Meetings are conducted by the Senior Patrol Leader, under the guidance of the Scoutmaster and Patrol Leaders Council. The purpose of the meeting is to share information, learn Scout skills, practice leadership skills, plan outings and receive immediate recognition for achievements, as well as an opportunity to have Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review.

All Scouts are expected to arrive at Troop Meetings on time, to be in Class A uniform (unless specifically instructed otherwise), to bring paper and pencil, and to have their Boy Scout Handbook. Please turn your cell phone off before each Troop Meeting, and be mindful that several groups use Grace Baptist Church in the evenings, so please refrain from running and speaking loudly in the hallways.

Location and Time

Every Tuesday evening (with the exception of some holidays and on evenings when Patrol Meetings are held instead) at Grace Baptist Church, room D-220, from 7:00pm to 8:15pm, although Troop Meetings are sometimes held outdoors at another time and location to practice outdoor skills.

Announcements

The latest Troop news, updates, and reminders are announced at Troop Meetings, before any Scout activities begin. Many announcements are accompanied by flyers for the Scouts to take home to their Parents, as well as being emailed to the Troop email distribution list. All flyers and Troop-wide emails must be pre-approved by the Committee Chairman, and emails distributed by the Communications Chair. Troop Members can also check this website for the Troop News and Troop Calender.

After announcements have been made, Parents are asked to relocate to room D-117, across the hallway, to help plan the Troop program and leave the Scouts undisturbed in running their Troop Meeting.
