Annual expenses for the family of each Scout include annual Troop fees, summer camp, activity fees, and food for campouts. Less frequent expenses include purchase of a Scout uniform. In addition, each Scout is required to pay monthly dues in the amount of $8 to cover operational costs of the Troop, re-chartering, insurance, Boys Life subscription and completed awards and badges. All new Scouts joining our Troop will pay the full year’s cost of dues regardless of the month the out joined. Scouts are to give their monthly directly to the Patrol Scribe, who then gives the dues to the Troop Scribe (not the Troop Treasurer or any other Adult). The Troop Scribe then forwards dues to the Troop Treasurer. It our Troop’s policy that Scouts will not be awarded their Rank Advancement or merit badges unless they are current with their monthly dues. Scouts will not be automatically re-charted with our Troop unless dues are current. Troop 3:16 Eagle Scouts are exempt from paying monthly dues but need to pay annual recharter and Boy’s Life fees to remain on the Troop Charter. See Also |
