The purpose of fundraising events is to fund Troop activities and to provide Scouts that participate with funds for Troop activities. Fundraising activities are decided by the Troop Committee and handled in accordance with BSA policies. The purpose of fundraising activities is to provide the Scout with an opportunity to earn money to pay for their Scouting events (snowboarding trip, Summer Camp, etc.). Fundraising also teaches our Scouts the importance of earning their own money towards activities they desire to participate in. Scout earnings from fundraising are tithed as follows: 10% of total earnings are given to Grace Baptist Church; 10% of total earnings are given to the Troop general fund. The balance of the earnings is placed in the Scout’s personal account which is maintained by the Troop Treasurer. To access your Scout account money the Scout must complete a “Scout Account Funds Transfer Request†which requires a Parent’s signature and is given to the Troop Treasurer for processing. See Also |
