Parents

At Meetings

The Troop has many regularly scheduled meetings. Some are just for Scouts, some are just for Parents, and some are for the entire family. For any meeting that Parents may attend, we ask that you please turn your cell phone to vibrate so that it doesn’t disturb other meeting participants.

Troop Meetings

Parents and siblings may observe Troop Meetings, held most Tuesdays at 7pm, so long as they are mindful that they are the Scout’s guests and act accordingly by remaining quiet. However, after the meeting announcements, the Scouts ask that all family members adjourn to room D-217 across the hallway, where you may talk with each other and help organize future Troop events. (Trained Adult Leaders are an exception, and the father of each Scout is required to attend at least on Troop Meeting each month.)

Also, be mindful that several groups use Grace Baptist Church in the evenings, so please refrain from speaking loudly in the hallways.

Patrol Leader Council

Parents may not attend Patrol Leader Council Meetings, which are held before the Troop Meeting on the first Tuesday of the month.

Patrol Meetings

Parents may observe Patrol Meetings, held every third Tuesday at 7pm, usually at the Patrol Leader’s home, but they should not participate in them.

Courts of Honor

Parents are encouraged to attend the semi-annual Troop Courts of Honor and occasional Eagle Courts of Honor to celebrate the achievements of their sons and the other boys in the Troop. The invitation also extends to siblings, grandparents, other family members, friends, etc. Attendees are requested to dress as they would if they were attending church.

Committee Meetings

Parents are encouraged to attend Committee Meetings every second Tuesday of the month at 7:15pm, and participate in the administration of the Troop.

Annual Planning Meeting

Parents are encouraged to help plan the Troop's annual program, usually at the informal setting of an Adult Leader’s home in December.
